I had quite a productive morning. I did my differential geometry homework and then learned how to make commutative diagrams in LaTeX. Unfortunately, I can only do arrows. I still need to figure out how to do lines and lines with slashes through them.

Labutin came to class a couple minutes early and decided to start even though very few people were actually there. I assumed that he had a lot to talk about and that he wouldn’t finish in 50 minutes. However, after about half an hour, he had said all he had planned to say and then left.

I wandered around campus for 40 minutes trying to find the Instutite for Theoretical Physics and failed, so I didn’t hear Witten speak. I doubt I would have understood anything anyway.

About Simon

Hi. I'm Simon Rubinstein-Salzedo. I'm a mathematics postdoc at Dartmouth College. I'm also a musician; I play piano and cello, and I also sometimes compose music and study musicology. I also like to play chess and write calligraphy. This blog is a catalogue of some of my thoughts. I write them down so that I understand them better. But sometimes other people find them interesting as well, so I happily share them with my small corner of the world.
