Insomnia

Procrastination gives me insomnia, although I’m not sure why. I solved the problems on my 201 midterm yesterday, and I only needed to do writeups (which I didn’t feel like doing yesterday). I thought that writing up solutions wouldn’t take me too long, but it still prevented me from sleeping properly. At about 3:50, I decided that I had had enough of failing to sleep, and so I got up. The other problem is that it’s too hot. Maybe I should leave the window open. But then it’s usually too noisy. I suppose it’s simple economics.

Modular functions are neat. I’m a bit stunned that they exist at all, but I guess I’ll get over that eventually.

About Simon

Hi. I'm Simon Rubinstein-Salzedo. I'm a mathematics postdoc at Dartmouth College. I'm also a musician; I play piano and cello, and I also sometimes compose music and study musicology. I also like to play chess and write calligraphy. This blog is a catalogue of some of my thoughts. I write them down so that I understand them better. But sometimes other people find them interesting as well, so I happily share them with my small corner of the world.
