I have already been back for a week, and I haven’t written anything in this journal. How strange. I started and finished a book written by a man who has spent the past 25 years finding books in Yiddish all over the world and preventing their destruction. I am amazed that I hadn’t heard of this effort until Sunday.

I realized I hadn’t been doing enough math lately, so I have been doing a bit of algebraic topology today. It’s fun stuff.

My schedule has changed for next quarter, so I will get to take set theory after all. Unfortunately I won’t be able to take quadratic forms as a result. Hopefully someone will tell me what happens in that class. Maybe I’ll try going once or twice a week (since I only have a conflict on Wednesday most likely).

About Simon

Hi. I'm Simon Rubinstein-Salzedo. I'm a mathematics postdoc at Dartmouth College. I'm also a musician; I play piano and cello, and I also sometimes compose music and study musicology. I also like to play chess and write calligraphy. This blog is a catalogue of some of my thoughts. I write them down so that I understand them better. But sometimes other people find them interesting as well, so I happily share them with my small corner of the world.
